Isn't
tantra just about sex?
Modern tantra has been sensationalized through the media and to the
untrained person, seems to be simply about sex. While sex
is important in tantra, it's no more or less important than all
the other chakras. All chakras are necessary and need to
be activated and develop in order to become a fully functioning
individual and create happy, healthy
relationships.
Why do we have to do exercises for all the chakras if we want to learn tantra?
If
we focus on only one or two chakras, like the genitals and the
heart, we're incomplete and miss all the wonderful aspects of
ourselves represented by the chakras in between. If we're
incomplete, we can't create complete relationships with others.
If we come from lack expecting the other to fill us up and
make us whole, we're like an endless pit with no bottom.
We need to address our own issues and come to terms within
ourselves in order to have something worthwhile to offer to
others.
What are
chakra
blocks?
Chakra
blocks, inner walls to the flow of our lifeforce, are our body's imprints of
hurts, abuse, neglect, pastlife and archetypal scripts as well as indicators of
our current concerns. Blocks are created when we respond to external
stimuli that we perceive as trauma. We hold memory mines in our bodies on
a cellular level. Our subconscious recognizes trauma as strong emotional
responses, psychological wounds, cultural conditioning, religious
programming--anything that upsets us or goes against our true nature, needs,
wants and the inner desires of our soul. Blocks in our chakras manifest as
body armouring. Body armouring, shielding with fat, muscle, lack of
sensitivity or otherwise defending against future hurts, appears in our body. We
may add weight around a particular area of our body (for example waist, hips,
thighs) to protect chakras from additional wounding. When we are
ill-at-ease we often create ailments or diseases (see
Chakras
for more information on body armouring) in our bodies.
When we explore, physically,
emotionally and sexually, we can identify, cathart and reprogram ourselves,
clear our chakras so that energy flows in our body and between us and our
lovers. When our chakras clear, we experience kundalini awakening.
We remember our life purpose and reason we incarnated.
