At 13, saddened with the obvious hypocrisy of her religion, Janet broke free from tradition and embarked on a spiritual path. She read thousands of books on every subject, including psychology. She observed the intense emotionally, physical and psychological pain and suffering of friends and family and knew there had to be other options. Janet, appalled, was forced to view Vietnam War death statistics broadcast like football scores at her nightly, family dinner table. Overwhelmed in sorrow, she vowed to find avenues for conflict resolution and peace, within herself, her family and the planet. She dedicated her life to healing.

Janet’s economically challenged family couldn’t send her to college, so she furthered her education through books, videos, seminars, classes, private counseling and spiritual growth work. She freed herself from childhood abuse issues and developed skills to facilitate others. She discovered other people reflected parts of her and as she worked healing others, she healed herself--one layer at a time.

Janet coupled psychology with her natural sensitivity in all of her traditional jobs, becoming a major healing force for many. She helped colleagues transcend their workday difficulties and go home more centered to face relationships, friends and family.

Since Pittsburgh, where Janet was raised, was and still is a hot spot for UFO’s, Janet, naturally curious and part mad-scientist, thoroughly researched UFOs until she became an expert in the field. She started The Penn State UFO Discussion Group in 1991. In the safety of her group, many students revealed their experiences, from sightings to abductions to physical markings received in their sleep. Janet recognized at that time that she lacked the psychological skills to effectively help her severely traumatized students and vowed to further her studies to develop them.

In 1991 following a year of daily meditation, Janet had series of of mysterious dreams recalling previous incarnations and strange, ritualistic, lovemaking practices. That same year she got her first internet account from Penn State and met an astral projection master from Hawaii in a discussion group. He could project to her at will. She learned to consciously connect with him and they became etheric lovers. These intense, intimate exchanges awakened her kundalini energy, hithertofore unknown to her. These startling experiences puzzled and disturbed her; they rocked her reality. When she tried to discuss these experiences with her friends, they judged and criticized her. Although her mother had succeeded in stifling her, making her doubt her reality when she was a helpless child, Janet was now too strong and aware. She knew her experiences were valid and real.

These experiences led her to divorce her conventional husband and move to Hawaii to pursure her romance and studies in person with her guide. She also studied books and videos which stimulated her to remember that previous lives and astral experiences involved tantra. She’d never heard the word "tantra" before, yet sensed tantra was a major system to heal herself and the Earth.

When Janet arrived in Honolulu in 1993, she discovered Pali Paths, a just-forming polyamory group. She facilitated the alternative relationship support group to help her and others understand relationship dynamics and options. One option, polyamory, like tantra, is a high-spiritual path that honors individuality and choice. At first only a few people attended Janet’s poly group, but the group persevered and promoted intelligently and word got out. Attendance grew to several hundred. Janet moved to Maui, but Pali Paths continues on Oahu.

Janet pursued her love of technology; she established of her AOL account (planetsexy@aol.com) in 1995 became internationally-known as an internet relations counselor. IM's (Instant Messages) provided spontaneity and the anonymity of the internet led to thousands of "true confessions" from those struggling with unhappy relationships, unfulfilled desires, sexual frustration, dysfunction and infidelity. Janet did the best she could to help and she did help many. However, she knew there had to be more she could do.
