Come join us for
three fun-filled days and nights as we
gather in our weekend polyamorous community
where we all we can to "Perfect the
Polyamory Paradigm".
Bryn Mawr is a 2
hour drive from New York City, 2.5 hours
from Kennedy airport, 2 hours from Newark, 3
hours from Philadelphia. Connecting flight
are available to Wilkes-Barre Airport.
It's a 40 minute drive to Bryn Mawr.

We at the World Polyamory Association are
excited to be on the East Coast. Many of our
members and staff where born here even
though we've dispersed and currently live
far away. But as they say, you can
take the boy out of the East Coast but you
can't take the East Coast out of the boy.
Hmm, something like that.
Personally this is a homecoming for me. I've
not been back to Pennsylvania, (where I was
born and raised), seen my family since 1999,
right after both my parents died. Those were
super interesting times for me. When I ran
off to upstate NY and consummated my
relationship with Sasha in 1997 at the East
Coast Loving More Conference, my sister
almost called the police because she thought
I'd been kidnapped by some crazy religious
cult! I moved to Hawaii, Mom & Dad
transitioned and when I came home to bury
the folks in '99, my family and I re-enacted
the Clash of the Titans.
Six years later I think I've processed that
enough, and I'm ready to see my conservative
kin. I think they may have sufficiently
missed me too because some of them are
planning to jump out of their box and come
to the poly conference to see how the other
side lives.
Wow! I'm inspired by my own story even
though I lived it because when it was
happening from the view I had inside that
high drama and trauma, I certainly couldn't
see the trees for the forest and
imagine the way out of that mess. Now
I've arrived here to this now and I'm
through it, I see the divine perfection in
it and how it couldn't have happened any
other way. So I guess the moral of the story
is, keep the faith. If I can do it,
you can do it, and so can we.

Perfecting
the Polyamory Paradigm

A polyamory
paradigm is a world where one may chose to
honestly and openly love more than one person at
the same time in the fashion that suits the
parties concerned. The hallmark of
polyamorous relationships is candor. Every
lovers knows about all the other lovers and in
the form I prefer, they actually know each
other.
What does it take to perfect the
poly paradigm? Is it even possible?
How do we reconstruct thousands of years of
perceptions and misconceptions surrounding
relationships and the monogamy myth?
Pluralistic ignorance pervades our paradigm.
Society professes one thing while it actually does
another. Who is society? Can we break it all down
to it's lowest common denominator, the individual
human factor and reconstruct our models to reflect
the highest good inherent in each and every of us?
God gave us free will, so they say,
but why doesn't our government allow us to follow
our true hearts desire and live as freely as we
chose? Are personal choices like love,
marriage, romance, birth, life and death really
anyone's business but our own? How did we
get into this mess of shoulds and should nots
imposed upon us by everyone, everywhere?
And are we really not free if they tell us what to
do? Or are we only not free when we allow
fear to prevent us from following our heart's
desire and doing as we will?
Come together, free thinkers, cultural creatives
and illusion shatterers as we chose what we want
to do with whom when where how and why and it's
nobody's business but our own. At least for
now, for this weekend, we can be honest with
ourselves and with each other. Perhaps the
trails we blaze in this conference, by we brave
poly pioneers and our poly supporters will
inspire others to support each individual's right
to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
Yes, even if the brand of happiness is different
from our own..
What will the world be like when all have free
will to be real with ourselves, friends,
relatives and society and be accepted for who we truly are? When we have such freedom will we
decide to be monogamous or polyamorous? Or will we
move back and forth along the continuum with the
freedom to change our minds as frequently as we
change our underwear?
I look forward to the day when we can look back
upon these times and laugh about this now. But on the other
hand, these are the best of times and the worst of
times. I think I'll chose to enjoy it all.
